Creative Sorcery
Getting Unstuck, Intuwitchin' & The Spookiest things about being a Creative Entrepreneur
Happy Halloween my Beauties!!
I had another newsletters almost ready to send to you (albeit a week late), when I realized that this will go out on Halloween Day!
My horoscope today says “welcome to spooky season. The veils between worlds are thinning, and your connection to your intuition is getting stronger.”
My entry point into the witchy woo woo was through my grandma (my mom’s mom).
At a young age, she was reading tarot with playing cards for me, she taught me how to read my tea leaves, and think about the meaning behind my dreams. She was someone who had “premonitions” or “feelings” about things before they would happen.
And yet, every time I would ask to learn more, or have her read my cards, she would protest until she got sick of me begging; “it’s just for fun Lauren, it’s just silly,” she would say.
Now that I’m older and wiser, one thing I know for sure — is that having that inner knowing, or intuition — is the least silly thing I can think of.
After learning this lesson over and over again, I’ve come to trust it implicitly.
Why don’t we just automatically trust our intuition?
Well, it wouldn’t be halloween if we didn’t raise our broomsticks and honor our witchy ancestors, would it??
“Witches” were often women seen as wise, intuitive healers who practiced herbal medicine, midwifery, or spiritual rituals.
In many ancient societies, “witches” were often revered before they became stigmatized.
However, during the Middle Ages in Europe, fears surrounding witchcraft began to intensify, leading to the infamous witch hunts.
The association between women, nature, and healing arts with the supernatural made them targets, leading to a long history of misunderstanding and fear surrounding the term "witch."
Accusations were frequently rooted in fear of the unknown and were a way to control behaviors that were seen as resistant to authority, unconventional, and a deviation from societal norms.
Okay, so we don’t burn witches at the stake anymore, but we don’t love the unknown, and societally, we don’t really celebrate people who trust their intuition above all else.
Luckily, for many of us, the idea of a “witch” has been reclaimed as a symbol of wisdom, intuition, and empowerment.
Creativity and Intuition are synonymous in my mind.
We just don’t always know our intuition is at work.
So let’s tap into our Creative Sorcery and Wisdom today shall we?
We are not F*cking around!!
Creative Nuggets
Fire the Cauldron up, let’s tap into our Creative Sorcery!
Are you like wait a second Lauren, I’m cool with you calling yourself a witch, but I really don’t identify with this comparison.
That’s cool. But I’m just going to leave this here:
Choosing to identify as an artist or creative? Unconventional.
Having some kind of inspiration drop in, and then making something new and unseen come to life? Magical.
Using your “inner knowing” to help guide your creative process? Alchemical.
Choosing to make money from your creativity? Deviating from societal norms.
Doing all of the above and enjoying the process and loving your life? Unpredictable, Powerful and very hard to control (ie. Anti-Authoritarian).
Just sayin!
Still with me?
Back in July we released a fabulous Juicy Life episode with Mia Magik called: How to Access your IntuWitchin and live a Magical, Abundant Life.
I re-listened to it today and highly recommend if you’re looking to re-connect with your intuition while the veil is thin.
If you scroll down into the “Entrepreneurial Scaries” section, you’ll see that I’ve quantified one of the most common ‘frights’ as feeling “stuck” or feeling as though you’re in a creative rut.
I’ve been talking to a lot of Creatives about one of the Scariest things that Creatives face… “feeling stuck” or “not feeling Creative.”
You’re not alone. It happens to all of us.
We sometimes forget that we know how to turn the creative tap on again, we just need reminders from time to time.
I got you!
The magic potion for getting Creatively ‘Unstuck’

1. Create a Magic Ritual for Creativity:
What helps you evoke the feeling of possibility? That’s the creative sorcery!
Many witches practiced ritual to center themselves. You can do something similar to signal the start of creative work. This could be as simple as lighting a candle, putting on a specific song, or sipping a favorite tea. The purpose is to create a transition into a creative mindset, treating it like entering a sacred, creative space.
I have a specific chair I like to sit in if I’m doing creative work. It’s a space away from my desk. I might also do a quick meditation, or pull or tarot card, or listen to saved reel or talk (I mentioned before that I like Abraham Hicks). The key is to pick something short that provides a great entry way into your work.
2. Journal in your “Spellbook”:
Put pen to paper.
Keep a notebook or journal for your thoughts, dreams, and ideas, like a personal spellbook. You can write down intentions for what you want to create, reflect on your creative goals, or record small moments of inspiration. This practice of capturing insights helps deepen creative intuition.
You could do the Morning Pages, just to turn on the tap again until the water runs clear.
3. Practice Intuitive Drawing or Writing:
This is an invitation to Play!
Draw or write without a plan—simply let your hand move and trust whatever appears on the page. This is similar to automatic writing or spirit-led drawing in folklore, where the focus is on allowing inner wisdom to emerge without judgment.
4. Set Creative Intentions (Under the Moon?):
Create an intention for what you want - we first need to think the thought, or say it out loud.
Link creativity to nature’s cycles, as witches do. For instance, a full moon could be a time to reflect on recent accomplishments, while a new moon could be a time to dream and plan for creative projects, or set new intentions. (P.S There is a new moon tmrw - November 1st!)
You can also create an alter (filled with things that evoke your witchy/creative side, or a vision board to help you bring your dreams to reality.
Try out this witchcraft to harness your "creative magic" without fear, and let me know how it goes!
The Untangling
The Entrepreneurial Scaries
There are so many spooky things that we’re faced with as Creatives.
Change (fear of the unknown!), Fear of Failure or Success (inducing perfectionism, or imposter syndrome - pick your poison), Fear of Being Seen (talk about vulnerable!), Scarcity (boo!), Fear of being Stuck (no more growth, sharp decline).
I could go on… I’m sure you can add a few more scaries to the list.
If you’ll indulge me, maybe there is room for us to evoke some witchcraft here also!
Is there a connection between Growth Mindset and Witchcraft?
Go on…
Change:
Witches have historically been seen as agents of transformation, using their knowledge of herbs, potions, and rituals to bring about change. They embrace the cycles of nature, understanding that change is not something to fear but to harness.
Similarly, change is not something to be feared, but viewed as a natural part of your journey! It’s about cultivating resilience and seeing each transition as an opportunity for personal and professional transformation.
Sexy.
Fear of Failure (or Success):
In many traditions, witches are considered wise because they learn from their experiences, whether they succeed or fail in their spells or practices.
This wisdom was often shared with the community, reinforcing the importance of learning and growth.
Failure is vital part to the individual learning process, which can be abundantly shared with your community.
I recently heard on a podcast: “Confidence doesn’t come from success, it comes from surviving failure.”
I love that.
Fear of Being Seen:
When you are comfortable being seen as your authentic self, you are truly free.
The more connected to your own intuition you are, the more connected to your inner truth you are, which helps you show up in the world as your true self.
Witches were often depicted as deeply intuitive, able to tap into their inner wisdom to guide their practices. They trusted their instincts and embraced their unique abilities.
Scarcity:
It haunts us, but the antidote is an abundance mindset.
Witches often gathered in circles, sharing knowledge and supporting one another.
This sense of community is vital for collective growth, empowerment and success!
Fear of Being Stuck:
If you believe in possibility and magic in everyday life, the well can never run dry.
Believing in the magic of possibility is a practice of intention, imagination, and the potential for transformation — each and every day.
This is growth mindset - it’s about helping you live a creative life, and waking you up to your potential!
Hard to be stuck when you’re in that frame of mind, right?
I see you, my modern-day witches!
Next time you find yourself with a case of the entrepreneurial scaries, just remember who the heck you are!
Pull out your spell book and get to work.
Abundance Aggregate
Throughout history, witches symbolized sisterhood and solidarity.
They gathered not just for rituals but to learn, share, and uplift each other.
Just like witches of old, who drew strength from their covens, we too can find power and support in one another. We’re not alone on our journeys; we have our own creative community (Creative Connection Collective - a modern-day coven), that offers understanding, encouragement, and that nudge forward when fear creeps in.
It’s been so exciting to share some of the festive designs from our community throughout this newsletter!

Each of you have your own unique "sorcery," a creative gift that lets you transform ideas into reality!
This magic isn’t just in the end result; it’s in the process—the sparks of inspiration, the flow of ideas, and the courage to share your vision.
Creative sorcery means embracing our quirks, channeling intuition, and trusting in our own unique “spells” to shape something entirely new.
And we can overcome the Scaries together!
Facing the “Entrepreneurial Scaries”—the fears that arise with creating, sharing, and evolving—is much easier when we’re surrounded by others who understand.
When we share our work and ideas with others, when we help each other win, when we find the courage to keep going… that is where real magic lies.
So here’s to our creative coven, to overcoming the “Scaries” together, and to embracing our own unique magic!
Happy Halloween, Dia de los Muertos, and New Moon to all of you! I hope your intuition is clear, your creativity is fiery, your possibilities are expansive, and your candy is abundant!
xo
Lauren
